The Green Archers continued their winning ways after gutting out a tough come from behind 57-55 win over the NU Bulldogs earlier today at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Jeron Teng came up big for La Salle as he scored 21 points and grabbed 7 rebounds while bruising forward Jason Perkins chipped in 18 points and amassed 10 boards. In addition, Teng scored 6 of La Salle’s last 7 points in the final quarter.

“Coming into the second round, I told them that they just have to be mentally prepared. So it’s all mental,” said Coach Juno Sauler after the game.

On the other hand, Ray Parks was his usual dominant self after scoring 19 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.

With this win, La Salle is now locked up with National U and FEU in a three-way tie with all of them having 9-4 cards.

Down by 43-52 with over 5 minutes left after a fastbreak hit by Parks, La Salle responded big time as they went on a 14-3 run to end the game. The run started after a fastbreak layup from Perkins which were then followed up by an Almond Vosotros putback. Teng putback with 46 ticks left would give them the lead for good.

Up next for the Archers will be the UST Growling Tigers this coming September 14, 4 pm, at the Mall of Asia Arena.
