The De La Salle Green Archers will take on the Mapua Cardinals this Wednesday in the Metro Manila Qualifying Games of the 2011 Philippine Collegiate Champions League. Game time is at 4PM at the Fil-Oil Flying V Arena.
For finishing 6th in this year’s UAAP, La Salle was unable to secure an automatic slot in the Final 16 and therefore needs to finish among the top two in this qualifying phase to advance.
The Green Archers will be parading its UAAP roster sans Simon Atkins, Maui Villanueva (both have already graduated and are currently playing in the PBA-D-league) and Yutien Andrada (ACL injury). Other players may not play due to minor injuries and other commitments.
Newly-appointed head coach Gee Abanilla will not yet call the shots as he will just be observing the players from the sidelines. Assistant coach Tyrone Bautista will take his place in this tournament.
DLSU last won the PCCL in 2008.
