La Salle-Zobel made it 2-0 in Season 74 juniors basketball action of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines as it trounced University of the East (UE), 92-59, at the Blue Eagle gym over the weekend.
The Junior Archers, who stunned reigning three-peat champion Ateneo Blue Eaglets, 78-75, in overtime last week, dominated the Recto-based cagers in the opening period and virtually settled the outcome with a 50-23 bulge at the turn.
John Boo came away with 15 points to lead the Junior Archers attack with Gabriel Reyes and Martin Betia adding 12 points apiece.
DLS-Zobel also finished with 27 assists against UE’s measly six as the Junior Archers built a 28-point lead after the third quarter before cruising to that 33-point rout.
No Junior Warriors managed to finish in double figures with Ricardo Mandilag and John Malones scoring eight points apiece. – Philstar.com
