The DLSZ Junior Archers lost to the UST Tiger Cubs 60-74 in the stepladder playoffs to finish at third place. UST will face defending champion Ateneo in the championship series.
With all of last year’s mainstays gone, nobody expected the team to even reach this far in the tournament. Fortunately, new heroes emerged and for them placing 3rd is already a feat in itself. With an intact core, expect the Junior Archers to be a serious contender next UAAP Season.
Earlier, the Lady Archers maintained its hold on third as they escaped with a 62-58 overtime conquest over the Ateneo Lady Eagles. Already assured of a playoff seat, their last elimination game will be against the UST Tigresses on Tuesday.
