La Salle Juniors Gabby Reyes, Axel and Thomas Torres commit to DLSU

Three La Salle high school basketball standouts will remain in a green and white jersey when they go to college.

De La Salle University has secured the commitment of Gabby Reyes and brothers Axel and Thomas Torres for its men’s basketball program. The announcement was made last night in a dinner attended by team and school officials, the coaching staff, the players and their parents.

The 6’3 Reyes played for De La Salle Zobel and was part of the UAAP Mythical 5 in the junior’s division last season. He averaged 13.1 points in season 74.

Axel Torres is also from De La Salle Zobel and a member of last year’s mythical team. Last season, he averaged 10.8 points and 1.8 steals for the Junior Archers. He was second in three point shooting accuracy at 30.2%.

Guard Thomas Torres will be best remembered for his stellar performance last season when he erupted for 35 points to lead La Salle Greenhills to its first NCAA Juniors championship stint since 1978. He averaged 16.9 points, 5 assists and 2.2 steals for the Greenies last season.

The three are the latest additions to La Salle’s list of recruits which includes Xavier’s Jeron Teng, and Mark Tallo from Cebu.
