La Salle stages all-star centennial show


As part of its centennial opening celebration on June 16, De La Salle University will stage “Isang Daan, Sangandaan: The All-Star Lasallian Centennial Concert” on June 16, 7:30 pm at the Teresa Yuchengco Auditorium, De La Salle University Manila.

Directed by Rowell Santiago, with musical direction by Louie Ocampo, the concert will feature Lasallian celebrities, headed by Gary Valenciano. The concert will pay tribute to DLSU’s rich history and its continuing mission to make education accessible to all.

Guest artists will include Ryan Agoncillo, The Akafellas, Dingdong Avanzado, Barbie Almalbis, Enchong Dee, Dingdong Eduque, Mike Enriquez, Edu Manzano, Kitchie Nadal, Carlo Orosa, Jett Pangan, Cynthia Patag, Princess, Epy Quizon, Zia Quizon, Jose Javier Reyes, JM Rodriguez, Randy Santiago, The Tux, Gabriel Valenciano, Iya Villania, and Nyoy Volante.

Lasallian athletes and student artists will also perform, led by the DLSU Chorale, La Salle Dance Company-Contemporary, De La Salle Innersoul, La Salle Dance Company-Street and LSGH Airforce.

Tickets are sold at the DLSU Centennial Office at Room 102, St. La Salle Hall, De La Salle University. The show will benefit the centerpiece project of the La Salle centennial celebration, the One La Salle Scholarship Fund, a campaign to raise two billion pesos to support approximately 18,000 with full scholarships in La Salle schools nationwide.

The concert is part of a week-long celebration that begins June 11. Highlights of the week include the veneration and public viewing of a relic of St. John Baptist de La Salle on the DLSU campus on June 15; the culmination of the Lasallian One Million Trees and Beyond Project on June 16; and staging of Cantata: Fire in the Soul, a musical tribute to the Lasallian Brothers during WWII, on June 19.
