The Lady Spikers remain hot and not even the last team that defeated them could do anything about it.

Ara Galang scored 18 points while Mika Reyes added 11 as fourpeat seeking La Salle ousts UST from playoff contention with a straight set win 25-23, 25-19, 25-19.

The Tigresses defeated the Lady Spikers on opening day of last season. Since then the defending champions have won 28 straight games and remain undefeated this season at 12-0.

La Salle raced to an early 5-0 to start the match. The lead went up to ten at 20-10 before UST went on a scoring run to cut the deficit to just two at 22-20. Already at set point, the Lady Spikers committed a service error which put the Tigresses to just with one. But the team escaped with the win after an attack by Cyd Demecillo.

In the second set, the Lady Spikers again jumped to a 21-10. The Tigresses again fought their way back trimming the gap to just four at 21-17. UST then committed several errors as Demecillo once again scored to give La Salle a 2-0 set lead.

After a slow start, the Lady Spikers pulled away towards the middle part of the third set as they led 23-12. The resilient UST squad managed to stage another rally, capitalizing on the consecutive errors by La Salle. But the comeback attempt was thwarted as Denice Tan closed out the match.

La Salle is just two wins away from sweeping the eliminations thus earning them an outright entry in the finals with a thrice-to-beat edge. They face UE this Wednesday before they go up against NU next Saturday.
