Major Blow for Archers as Andrada injures ACL

Norbert Torres

The Green Archers will be missing the services of Yutien Andrada next UAAP season as the veteran center injured his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in yesterday’s game against Lyceum.

Andrada went down while chasing the ball early in the first quarter. He was carried off the floor.

He previously tore his ACL in the same leg two years ago which sidelined him for the latter part of Season 74. This injury usually takes 6 to 8 months to recover.

Even without Andrada, the Green Archers managed to prevail against the Pirates 70-64 in a hotly-contested match which saw several players being ejected.

Lyceum played physical all throughout the match which resulted to several of their players fouling out early. La Salle went to the foul line 56 times as compared to 18 by the Pirates.

Andrada is entering his 5th and final playing year for La Salle. If he sits out, he can still be eligible to play next season.
