The Green Archers finish third in the PCCL as they defeated the University of Cebu Webmasters yesterday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium. La Salle also won P100,000 worth of sporting goods.

Earlier, La Salle partly neutralized Junemar Fajardo’s strong inside presence and ran away with an 82-71 triumph over University of Cebu to cop third place honors.
The Green Archers unloaded a 22-0 run to rip the game wide open in the second quarter, hardly allowing the 6-9 Fajardo to touch the leather and do damage in that crucial span.
Almond Vosotros spiked that breakaway with two triples sandwiching a lay-up off a steal while Samuel Marata shot five, including a trey that pushed La Salle to a 42-19 spread, 1:30 before the half.
The Taft-based squad went on to post a 58-23 margin halfway through the third then quelled the Cebuanos’ fourth-quarter rally with clutch jumpers from Jarelan Tampus and Vosotros to complete the win.
Marata fired 18 points to go with seven rebounds and seven assists while Vosotros had 17 points and six assists to lead DLSU, which played with only 10 players due to injuries to Simon Atkins, Luigi dela Paz and Jovet Mendoza.
Fajardo, who exploded for 30 points against Ateneo in the Final Four, wound up with 16 points and 23 rebounds. He also made five shot blocks and four feeds for UC, which was led by Edward Pao’s 17.
In Game 1 of the best-of-three championship series, Adamson defeated Ateneo 80-78. Game 2 will be played on Sunday.
