Despite the setback last Saturday, the Green Archers are still in a good position to secure a place in the Final 4. If they get lucky, a twice-to-beat edge is still a realistic possibility. Their fate is still in their own hands and the challenge now is to see how they will bounce back from a tough loss.
Even if they are at the bottom of the standings, UP is still a tough team to play. Most of their losses were decided by less than 10 points. Even against the better teams, they remain competitive.
Pregame Points
Blow them out right away – We hope the Archers can put them away early. If their first round game was any indication, the Fighting Maroons are dangerous in close games. Even if they have a history of eventually faltering down the stretch, this is not the best time to take any chances.
Take better control of the ball– UP is tops in steals and points off turnovers.
Both teams are hurting – Aside from the loss to Ateneo, the Archers have players that are still recovering from injury. On the other hand, the Maroons’ feelings are injured after that heartbreaking loss to UE. Look for both teams to come out strong in this game.
A win by La Salle will put them a game ahead of NU and remain within striking distance of FEU and UST for a possible crack at clinching at least a tie for the second spot in the standings.
