Round-Up: Baseball team sweeps first round, Tennisters bounce back and other UAAP sports news

UAAP Baseball

The De La Salle Baseball team’s amazing run continues as they defeated UP 8-7 last Sunday to sweep the first round of competition.

Earlier this week, they escaped with a come-from-behind win over Adamson 4-3. The Green Batters managed to get 3 runs in the 9th inning.

UAAP Football

The Green Booters ended their match against UE in a draw at 1-1 last Thursday. They are currently at 3rd place behind FEU and UP.

It was also a 1-1 draw between the Lady Booters and Ateneo last Sunday. They remain in 4th in this 5-team tournament.

UAAP Softball

The Lady Batters lost to UP 5-4 last Wednesday but managed to bounce back with a 7-0 thrashing of Ateneo. They remain though in 6th place with 2 wins and 6 losses.

UAAP Tennis

The De La Salle tennis teams regrouped after a bad season start to improve their standings this past week.

The Green Tennisters defeated UE 3-2 last January 15 but lost to NU 4-1 last Saturday. They however managed to boune back the following day as they defeated ADMU 3-2. The team is currently in 4th place at 2-3.

UAAP Tennis

In women’s action, the Lady Tennisters scored 4-1 victories over UST, ADMU and UP this past week. The defending champions improve to 3-1, second behind undefeated NU.

UAAP Chess

The defending champion Lady Woodpushers remain undefeated after the 2nd week of competition. They defeated NU 3.5-0.5 and and UST 3.0-1.0 to lead the pack with a 4-0 record.

The Green Woodpushers lost to FEU 1.0-3.0 but defeated UP 2.5-1.5 for a 3-1 slate.
