“We are practicing tomorrow so no break for us,” said Sauler when asked about the benefit of a one-week break the Archers will have prior to the best-of-three title series that starts on October 2 at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

LA Revilla

For LA Revilla, he has seen it all. As a rookie back in 2008, the Green Archers were on top, having won a championship the previous year. He missed the next two seasons due to illness and witnessed the team’s decline.

Now in his senior year and back in full strength, he looks forward to lead the team in winning the championship this season.

IT has been five years since La Salle’s Green Archers last played in a UAAP Finals that LA Revilla swears he has forgotten how it feels.

He’ll soon get reacquainted with it.

The only remnant of the La Salle team that lost to Ateneo in the 2008 Finals, the veteran point guard is also one of the biggest reasons why the Green Archers are back in the league’s showpiece event.

Revilla placed behind him what until then had been a so-so final season with the Archers and stepped up in the games that mattered, more so in a 71-68 win over Far Eastern University on Wednesday.

“Hindi ko alam ang ine-expect ko (sa Finals),” said Revilla, a former San Beda Red Cub and a rookie in the De La Salle team that bowed to Ateneo in the 2008 Finals.

“It was different because it was five years ago. I really don’t know. I just have to take it one game at a time.”

Jason Perkins

According to reports, Rookie Jason Perkins will be part of this season’s Mythical Team. Perkins is averaging 12.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game.

In a video posted on Instagram by believelasalle, Romeo can be seen bringing his hand to his mouth and then touching the hand of La Salle’s Jeron Teng, who is about to take a pair of free throws. The incident happened in the third period after FEU’s Gryann Mendoza was slapped with a technical foul and Teng was assigned to take the free throws.
It’s impossible to zoom in to Romeo’s hand and solidly conclude that he did indeed spit on it, but what transpires next pretty much says that whatever it was that was transferred to his hand, Teng didn’t like it one bit.

Jeron’s reaction:

“Hindi ko nga alam kung pawis ‘yun, parang dura pa nga eh,” said Teng. “Pero hindi na rin ako nagalit or what, sinumbong ko na lang siya sa referees kasi pa-finals na kami eh!”

Asked to comment on angry reactions from fans who shared his view that Romeo’s action was disgusting, Teng could only shake his head.

“No comment na lang ako dyan. May kanya-kanya kasing style ang mga naglalaro. Kung yun siya, wala akong magagawa,” Teng said.

If Jeron had his way, he wants to face his brother Jeric in the Finals.

“Syempre gusto ko manalo ang UST, andun si kuya eh,” said Teng, while expressing his preference to face his brother Jeric and the rest of the Tigers.

“Last year na ni kuya sa UAAP kaya wish ko sana maka-finals siya,” added the young cager.
The younger Teng, however, revealed that his dreams for his brother will just be solely to reach the finals – nothing more, nothing less.

“Syempre kung sila ang uusad sa finals, tatalunin namin sila. Hindi naman ako papayag na matalo kami,” said Teng in between laughters.
