The DLSU Football teams started their respective UAAP campaigns with a bang last week.

Looking to improve on their 6th place finish last season, the Green Booters romped past FEU 3-1 Thursday and followed it up with 2-0 victory over Adamson last Sunday to grab a share of the early lead in the standings.

They shall face defending champion ADMU this coming Thursday afternoon.

In the women’s division, the Lady Booters open their title defense with a 3-1 win over UP last Saturday. With the game tied 1-1 at the half, Shannon Arthur, who missed last season due to injury, scored the go-ahead goal in the 59th minute and another one in the 90th to seal the win for the defending champions.

DLSU remains undefeated in UAAP Baseball with two emphatic wins over UST 13-7 Wednesday and NU 17-5 last Sunday. The Green Batters are currently on top of the field with a 3-0 slate.

In Softball action, the Lady Batters crushed winless ADMU 8-1 to bounce back from a 2-9 loss to NU last Thursday. They are now tied with UP at two wins and three losses in this 7-team tournament.

The Green Spikers regroup after a disappointing 5-set opening day loss to UST with a straight set win over UP last Saturday. Arjay Onia finished with 19 points on 17 attacks while Raymark Woo added 10 markers. They shall next face FEU tomorrow morning.

In UAAP Tennis, the DLSU men’s team dominated UP 5-0 last Saturday for their second win in three games. The Lady Tennisters however continue to struggle early in the season as they lost to UP 1-4 Sunday to remain winless. They aim to get their first win against ADMU on February 18.

The four-day UAAP Fencing tournament concluded last Sunday with DLSU finishing 3rd in both the men’s and women’s division, a big improvement after landing fifth and fourth respectively last season.

The UAAP Athletics meet also ended Sunday with DLSU getting a 3rd place finish in the men’s division while the ladies landed in 6th place.
