The DLSU Green Spikers picked up two straight wins to put themselves in the thick of the race in the UAAP men’s volleyball tournament. They defeated winless UE in straight sets last Wednesday then outlasted Adamson in four last Saturday. Currently at fifth place with a 3-3 slate, they shall face defending champion ADMU this coming Saturday to close out the first round.
In Baseball, the Green Batters stomped their class on NU Wednesday with a 6-0 win. They followed this up with another dominating win over UST Sunday with a score of 11-1. The two wins solidify their hold of the top spot in the standings at 6-1.
In another 3-game week for the Lady Batters, they were only able to beat ADMU 6-5 while losing to UST 0-1 and NU 4-10. They currently have four wins and 7 losses.
In this week’s men’s football action, DLSU defeated UE 3-2 last Wedneday while losing to UST 0-2 Sunday. Despite suffering their 2nd loss of the season, the Green Booters remain in third with 9 points.
The defending champion Lady Booters meanwhile defeated ADMU 1-0 last Saturday to maintain their share of the lead in the 5-team tournament with 9 points.
In Tennis, the DLSU men’s team were unable to sweep their weekend assignments, as they lost to ADMU 2-3 Sunday after beating UP 4-1 the day before. The women’s team still remains winless in the tourney after losing to UST 2-3 Sunday.
