Top 10 Green Archer Power Rankings – Week 2

Week 1

Not really a good week for the team. They lost all their matches against the top 2 teams of the league. On the positive side, the Green Archers hung tough and did not allow themselves to be blown out. We expect them to fare better when they meet these same teams in the second round.

In the meantime, here are the rankings for this week.

1. LA Revilla – 16ppg, 5rpg, 7apg (Previous Week: 2)

Had he played against FEU, they Archers would have probably won. Aside from being perhaps the most reliable scorer from the perimeter, the team’s offense just runs better with him in the game. He had a terrific outing against Ateneo wherein he lead La Salle’s comeback trail. Would you agree that he is the best true point guard in the league right now?

2. Norbert Torres – 9.5ppg, 8.5rpg, 2bpg (Previous Week: 3)

His averages remain steady from the previous week but the team would need more offensive output from him if they are to make a strong push for the rest of the season.

3. Jeron Teng – 9.5ppg, 6.5rpg (Previous Week: 1)

He struggled to get his offensive game going against FEU but was able to bounce back last Saturday against Ateneo where he scored 13 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.

4. Luigi dela Paz – 7ppg, 2rpg, 2apg (Previous Week: 5)

Just like LA, he was unable to play against FEU due to injury. With both players out, the team was not able to connect from the outside.

5. Yutien Andrada – 5ppg, 7rpg, 1.5bpg (Previous Week: 6)

Against FEU he had 8 points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocks. Interesting to point out the he was perfect from foul line in the past two games. He would have been a difference against Ateneo but he saw limited playing time due to foul trouble.

6. Jovet Mendoza – 4.5ppg, 6rpg (Previous Week: 4)

He had 8 points and 7 rebounds against the Tamaraws but only managed to score on a single free throw against the Blue Eagles.

7. Arnold Van Opstal – 2ppg, 5.5 rpg (Previous Week: 7)

He held his own against Slaughter but was unable to sustain it for a long time due to foul trouble. You got to love the energy that he brings, especially on the offensive rebounds where he is so far leading the team in that category.

8. Jed Manguera – 3ppg, 2.5rpg (Previous Week: 8)

He broke his nose against FEU and had to wear a protective mask the following game. Aside from his defense, he is known for his ability to hit beyond the arc. He did just that against Ateneo where all of his 6 points were from the three point line.

9. Almond Vosotros – 4ppg (Previous Week: 10)

Even if he co-topscored with 8 points against FEU, his overall production so far this season is still not close to his FilOil averages of 9.2 ppg. The team badly needs outside shooting and we know he can deliver once he finally gets his rhythm going.

10. Mark Tallo – 2ppg (Previous Week: none)

To the critics, seriously give him a break. We think that he is going to have a breakout game very soon.
